LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free 12-week program for adult cancer survivors. Trained YMCA wellness staff work with each participant as they transition from treatment to reclaiming their physical and emotional strength. Staff will develop individual programs in a small group setting to help participants on their fitness journey!
Muscle Strength
Throughout the program, participants will learn how to build muscle mass and strength through various exercises. They will also be taught how to use a variety of fitness equipment in our facility!
Improve endurance
Over the course of the program, participants will work to improve their endurance
Increase Energy
This program will help particpants increase their energy levels, self-esteem, and improve their overall quality of life. They will develop a community of fellow survivors, YMCA and other members.

Program Details
Our 12-week program includes;
- Two 75 to 90-minute sessions per week
- Cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance and flexibility exercises
- Fitness and quality of life assessments before and after participation of the program (to track progress)
- YMCA-certified instructors helping you every step of the way throughout the course of the program
How to book a class Section
Who is eligible for the program?
To be eligible for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, you have to;
- Obtain a medical clearance form from your physician
- 18 years old or older
- Cancer diagnosis
- Living with or beyond cancer treatment
- Be ready for a physical activity program
